So why does your blog actually exist?
I wonder how many of us can answer that truthfully.
There's a host of different answers and reasons. We all start our first post with great enthusiasm but have we a clear picture of why we have brought this life, this growing developing 'thing', into existence?
I started this blog to find an answer as to whether it's possible to make money with free blogs without using any capital or outlay.
I've partly answered this as I've now gone through the $3000 barrier but I haven't met some of my initial targets. I was really aiming for $5000 within a year (though I still have some weeks to go as yet.)
I set this figure at the beginning because, breaking it down to UK money, I thought £50 a week was realistic. The problem was I had no yardstick to measure this by. You read a lot about the big earners with six figure and more blogging incomes - but most took a while to develop this. Wonder what their first year income was, before they learned their trade?
Of course in life, as with Google Analytics, it's easy to get swamped out by too many stats and figures that they all blur and become almost irrelevant.
I do feel though that, with a blog, we should think about the original question of why our blogs actually exist? It's easier than finding out why we exist!
If we can answer this, based on purely our own thoughts and without outside influences, we might just get to where we want to go and gain what we hope to achieve. After all, if we don't know where we want to go we aren't likely to get there.
Good luck,
Mike.
