Sometimes it helps to forget the spellchecker when writing money making posts.Perhaps that's an exaggeration, but a few wrong spellings of keywords can bring in extra referrals from search engines.
As an example, on my celebrity blog I made a mistake with spelling the surname 'Shabnam'. I included it a couple of times correctly but, for some reason, I also spelt it wrongly as 'Shabnab'.
When I looked at my stats I found I had 228 search engine referrals from the keyword 'Shabnam' but also another 114 hits from the wrongly spelled keyword 'Shabnab'.
In other words I had an extra one hundred plus visits to the blog because of my misspelling.
I've been aware of this way of getting extra referrals for a while and sometimes 'accidentally' do variations of certain words.
It's all about thinking of alternative spellings that searchers might use. If writing about Britney Spears, for instance, the list on the left shows wrong spellings used on Google. It's obviously something not to be overdone. You don't want visitors noticing lots of errors, and thinking you are a bit of a dunce, but discreet misspellings may just bring a few additional blog visitors.
And what do additional visitors bring? Additional money making potential! Nice theory anyway.
Good luck,
Mike.
