It's a sunny Easter Sunday but I've managed to escape for a short while to write a quick post.Sometimes I think the world has gone mad what with Political Correctness and Human Rights taken to the extreme. Of course they are both honourable things but it's all getting a little silly nowadays - oh and then there is the price of bubble gum wrappers!
For example, did you realise that a Mars Attacks bubble gum wrapper, from 1962, will sell for at least £100 ($180)? Now can that be right?
The world of ephemera, or printed memorabilia, has interested me for a long time and I have dabbled in dealing with such things over the years. It's a market that covers everything from those bubble gum wrappers to old magazines, photos, football programmes and so on. The fact is there are money making possibilities with paper items that most people would normally throw away. Perhaps a good niche here for eBay sellers.
Anyway, there are Easter Eggs to be eaten and people to see so I'd better finish before I get into trouble with my wife. It's a gathering of the clans tonight. For a little more info on ephemera, and indeed bubble gum wrappers, see my post Making Money From Printed Memorabilia & Ephemera on one of my other blogs.
Good luck,
Mike.
